The Independence High School JROTC will be marching in Franklin's Veterans Day Parade on November 11th 2009. This is one of the largest event that the battalion as a whole will be participating in. There will be over 5,000 viewers on the day of the parade.



Chain of Command for 2009-2010

Mighty B.C. Battalion Commander C/LTC Leah Schofield:

  • Senior at IHS.
  • Participates in the Golf team at school.
  • Is also on the Lacrosse team.
  • Plays the guitar in her down time.
  • Aspiring to be a doctor.
  • Wants to go to Vanderbilt University.
Fetner Battalion XO C/MAJ Wyatt Fetner:

  • Senior at IHS
  • Native Texan displaced in TN.
  • Member of the IHS Theater Department.
  • 5A Region Champion and State Football Finalist.
  • Member of the National Honors Society.
  • Member of Mu Alpha Theta.
  • Part of JROTC Color Guard and Rifle Team.
  • Has been Accepted into Texas A&M and will be a member of the Corps of Cadets
Chancey Battalion CSM Chancey Smithson:

  • Senior at IHS.
  • Producer of the Indy Nation News.
  • Participates in the Taxidermy club.
  • Was a member of Color Guard his Freshman and Sophomore year.
  • Loves to hunt and fish.
  • Looking into going into the Army or the Navy.
  • Works at WC-TV.
  • Aspires to be a K-9 Police Officer.
Grace S-1 C/CPT Grace Martin:

  • Senior at IHS
  • Historian of the National Honor Society.
  • Volunteers in Girls Cotillion.
  • Member of Girl Scouts for 10 years and currently completing the Gold Award.
  • Enjoys watching football and shopping in Atlanta.
  • Wants to got to NYU and major in pre-law to become a criminal defense lawyer.
Marcena S-1 Assistant C/MSG Marcena Walker:

  • AKA "Sena"
  • Over Achiever in everything she does.
  • Loves sports.
  • Member of the Bowling Team at IHS.
  • Co-Commander of the Drill Team.
  • "Do or Die" -motto of the year.
  • Aspires to be an Entertainment Attorney.
Dewey S-2 C/CPT Micah Dewey:

  • Senior at IHS
  • Plans on joining the Marine Corps
  • Life consists of school, work, working out and sleep
  • Commander of a Bad Karma Airsoft team ULF
  • Semper Fi.
  • "If its funny, its probably harassment."
  • Wants to attend Vanderbilt in the Fall of 2010
Vincent S-2 Assistant C/MSG Vincent Ly:

  • Senior at IHS.
  • Plans on going to Murray State.
  • Works at a restaurant in Nashville.
Gumdrop S-3 C/MAJ Chris Kundrock:

  • Senior at IHS.
  • AKA Gumdrop or Mall Cop.
  • Plans on going to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga to study Criminal Justice.
  • Has been in the Williamson County Sheriff Explorers for 4 years.
  • Likes to spend time with family and friends.
Bandy S-3 Assistant C/MSG Austin Berger:

  • Junior at IHS.
  • Section Leader of the Drum line.
  • Birthday is October 22.
  • Has been to many Drum Line camps and Military Camps over the summers.
  • Has been to Guatemala many times on Mission Trips for his church.
  • Is trying out for DCI in November.
Codyyy S-4 C/CPT Cody Hill:

  • Senior at IHS.
  • Plans on attending Tennessee Tech. University.
  • Plans on getting a Fire Science Degree.
  • Participates in the Franklin Fire Dept. Explorers Program.
T.O.F.T S-4 Assistant C/MSG Lexi Toft:
  • Junior at IHS.
  • TOFT- Tiny Offensive Fighting Thing..
  • Member of Color Guard and Drill Team.
  • Holds position of Petty Officer 1st class in the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps and Lead Petty Officer of the Nashville LPD-13 Division.
  • Member of the IHS Forensics Team, Interact Club, and the International Thespian Society.
  • Cast member in the IHS Fall production of “The Wizard of Oz”
  • Takes ballet at the TN Dance Arts Conservatory.
  • Intends to join the US Navy and become a Naval Intelligence Officer.
kacey S-5 C/CPT Kacey Plemons:

  • Senior at IHS.
  • Loves to do Mission projects with her church.
  • Assignment Desk Editor of the IHS Media Dept.
  • President of the National Technical Honors Society.
  • Member of Skills USA.
  • A Link Crew Leader at IHS.
  • Member of the Taxidermy Club.
